The greatest of the German national nudist organizations, the Reichsverband für Freikörperkultur, which a few years ago was the strongest nudist organization in the world, with 14,000 enrolled members, organized in ninety groups, with sixty-two nudist parks, was dissolved two years ago. In its place, here was organized the Battle Ring for National Free Physical Culture (Kampfring für volkische Freikörperkultur). Free physical culture is the German term for nudism. This organization is part of the National Association for Public Health, and consists of more than seventy local nudist groups, with thirty-one “parks.” The use of these grounds, however, is always submitted to the decision of the local police authorities. All Marxian and pacifist elements are strictly excluded from the clubs. Since June the new nudist organization has been publishing a new nudist magazine, entitled “German Free Physical Culture” (“Deutsche Freikörperkultur”), devoted to racism, natural living, and physical exercise. Adolf Koch's famous school of nude gymnastics has been allowed to reopen, but the exercisers must wear bathing costume.
